Set Down Your Glass Lyrics
And count to five
Let's craft the only thing we know into surprise
Set down your glass
I painted this
To look like you and me forever as we're now
And I'm shaking, then I'm still
When your eyes meet mine I lose simple skills
Like to tell you all I want is now
I'm just not the same
As I was a year ago
And each minute since then
As we take off
You say you'll sew me good as new
And I know you will
And I'm shaking, then I'm still*
-_- it's not a Bond theme lol!
I can relate to this so much; awkwardness around specific people but the knowledge it doesn't matter.
This song is the best on the album. I agree with 3lancer, its to do with awkwardness towards someone who doesn't feel the way you feel. I love it, its easy to relate to.
Amazing song...
Thanks again. It's not easy to figure out everything he's saying.
Nah. I think it helps if you're British (not that I know you're not haha) and if you've sung loads of their stuff as covers.
You did a fantastic job on the more difficult bits.
yeah these lyrics are perfect and best song on the album? Maybe!
"You say you'll sew me good as new and I know you will"
I'm more inclined to think with lyrics like that, it's the beginning of a relationship and she's saying that she'll "sew" him better, but he doesn't know how to express his own feelings to her, so yeah like 3lancer said, he feels awkward but just wants to be able to say it all. lovely song :)
I have been listening to this song over and over, it is so good. I really like the line "I'm just not the same As I was a year ago and each minute since then". I think it is talking about the impact and influence someone can have over you. How the feelings you have towards someone can change you as a person. Its a simple but powerful song.
I think its about some1 just appriecating wat they have. That feeling when u really like some1 "i'm shakind then i'll still when ur eyes meet mine i loose simple skills like to tell u all i want is now" He realises it might not last but thats ok cause he has it now, in that moment.
It reminds me of the film 'The Curious Case of Benjimin Button' I don't know if people would agree?
