The Last Pale Light in the West Lyrics
In my hands, I hold the ashes
In my veins, black pitch runs
In my chest, a fire catches
In my way, the setting sun
Dark clouds gather 'round me
To the west, the soul is bound
And I will go on ahead, free
There's a light yet to be found
The last pale light in the west
The last pale light in the west
And I ask for no redemption
In this cold and barren place
Still I see the faint reflection
And so by it, I got my way
The last pale light in the west
The last pale light in the west
In my veins, black pitch runs
In my chest, a fire catches
In my way, the setting sun
Dark clouds gather 'round me
To the west, the soul is bound
And I will go on ahead, free
There's a light yet to be found
The last pale light in the west
In this cold and barren place
Still I see the faint reflection
And so by it, I got my way
The last pale light in the west

to the west, not due northwest
I believe the lyrics are "In my chest, a fire catches" not "if I can catch this". Also, the word is "barren" not "barron".
"And I ask for no redemption â In this cold and barren place â Still I see the faint reflection And so by it, guide my way"
Is correct
These lyrics are horribly wrong. I have tried to submit the correct ones. The lyrics in some of the verses need to be corrected to read as follows:
"In my hands, I hold the ashes In my veins, black pitch runs In my chest, a fire catches In my way, the setting sun"
"Dark clouds gather 'round me To the west, my soul is bound"
"In this cold and barren place"
"Still I see the faint reflection And so by it, I guide my way"
Such a gorgeous song, like many II discovered it through the Walking Dead, and am surprised that more folks haven't commented due to the excellence of the song and the power of the scene it was used in. Listening to Ben Nichols now too-showing much promise
This song makes me want to just wander into oblivion and leave everything bad behind and find freedom somewhere else, the more desolate the better
man this song is great; his voice is real good.
