Don't Be Angry Lyrics
I have to sneak in and put on your oil
You will know where I’ve been, but I need the protection
Oh, what a strange and miraculous thing
to finally recognize what is driving me crazy
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
Don’t be angry, I don’t disagree
It is fear that I left back close on the highway
But I’d like to know if you ever told yourself
I could’ve once given your life some meaning
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
Don’t be angry, I will die lonely
Don’t be angry, I will die lonely
Don’t be angry, I will die lonely
Don’t want you, and you will see that I will die so very lonely
(Don’t be angry
And don’t be angry)
You will know where I’ve been, but I need the protection
Oh, what a strange and miraculous thing
to finally recognize what is driving me crazy
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
It is fear that I left back close on the highway
But I’d like to know if you ever told yourself
I could’ve once given your life some meaning
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
All that I want was here, now it’s gone
Don’t be angry, I will die lonely
Don’t be angry, I will die lonely
(Don’t be angry
And don’t be angry)

-The person in this song doesn't feel "secure" within the relationship anymore, they feel the need to rely on superstitions (put on your oil, back in the day people used "snake oil" for protection from everything like baldness to death(btw there is no snake oil)) -Because of this, they're cutting their losses for what they think is a doomed relationship because they don't think they're worth the trouble they're causing. -They go on to tell their partner, "Don't be sad or angry with me for ending us... you're going to find someone new and be happy one day. I, on the other hand, will never find happiness and will die alone."
Pretty tragic way to go through life. Anyhoo, just my two cents.

Here are the correct lyrics, directly from the the cd booklet. Lower case I-s no punctuation and everything. Exactly from the book I stress. Please change. The line "don't be angry, i will die lonely" pretty much sums up this song for me. Don't think any explanation could do it better than that.
I think of this song as the doppelgänger of "I Won't Share You". By putting this similarly sad, largely acoustic song at the end of their last EP, the Organ in my opinion was saluting the Smiths, whose last record Strangeways, Here We Come ended with "I Won't Share You". The song is eloquently dismal and leaves that same hollow feeling inside, especially when you know the likes of the Smiths and the Organ come really rare.
Reminds me of the death of the band. Katie always sounds so cheated in interviews; it's quite sad, really.
i think it's about a very bad breakup, or a big fight with someone you love about being too depressive.
