The Scream Lyrics
But something down here changed
The spring sun hanging slower
Colder in the sky
And your voice sounds strange
Your voice sounds strange
But this time
Something really isn't right
Summer sun hangs smaller
Paler in the sky
And your eyes are too bright
Your eyes are too bright
Is twisted out and wrong
The fall sun hanging flatter
Lower in the sky
And your smile is gone
Your smile is gone
Now I can't wake to
Break apart this dream
Winter sun hangs weaker
Older in the sky
And you start to scream
You start to scream
This is not a dream
This is how it really is
There isn't any other this
Is not a dream
Why you have this need
Why you can't be satisfied
Always want another why
You have this need
Dare me to believe
Dare me now to show I care
One last chance to make the dare
Me to believe
How we ended here
How we got from then to now
Never really followed how
We ended here
It's actually The Scream... but nevermind!
This song captures perfectly the confusion and frustration of a bipolar low. The familiarity of your surrounding tainted by a heavy feeling that somehow they're all wrong.
Yeah I've been down here before But this time Something really isn't right Summer sun hangs smaller Paler in the sky
It's like everything I know Is twisted out and wrong The fall sun hanging flatter Lower in the sky
There's this confusion about what is real, the joy you felt before or the sorrow you feel now. You scream as you accept what feels overwhelmingly certain, the joy was just a dream... Temporary. Sorrow is the reality... lasting and inevitable.
You start to scream
Scream and you scream This is not a dream This is how it really is There isn't any other this Is not a dream
It doesn't feel like a change of mood, It doesn't feel like you've changed. It feels like everything and everyone else did. Where am I and how did I get here.
Scream and you scream How we ended here How we got from then to now Never really followed how We ended here
I think this song feels so much like Labyrinth from the The Cure's eponymous album (see my comments there).
this is my fav robert has a fantastic voice
Gave the album another listen after a long while today. The Scream instantly stood out. I was taken aback. Incredible song.
If the Munch painting were a song this would be it.
