Fluorescent yellow Lyrics
Fluorescent yellow youre who Im fussin with
You came to take a little more than Ive got to give
I met you first right here back in 1986
Fluorescent yellow youre who Im fussin' with
Write me up cause I will not explain
Try to feel it too , but its not the same
ooooh
Your 7-7s cool but dont try to act tough
I've seen too many after they've had enough
My only promise well have another day
(you know it better be soon if you've gone away)
Make me a promise well have another day
Write me up cause I will not explain
Will not explain, will not explain
Try to feel it too , but its not the same
Will not explain, will not explain
Write me up cause I will not explain
Will not explain, will not explain
Try to feel it too , but its not the same
Will not explain, will not explain
You came to take a little more than Ive got to give
I met you first right here back in 1986
Fluorescent yellow youre who Im fussin' with
Try to feel it too , but its not the same

(you know it better be soon if you've gone away)
Make me a promise well have another day
Will not explain, will not explain
Try to feel it too , but its not the same
Will not explain, will not explain
Write me up cause I will not explain
Will not explain, will not explain
Try to feel it too , but its not the same
Will not explain, will not explain

this album is becoming one of my favorite albums EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just joined to add the lyrics that are missing. I wish I could see him play live!
I think it's about a girl he met or knows and he likes her, but can't for some reason talk to her because he can't find words or maybe there is some sort of distance keeping them "make me a promise we'll have another day". She is giving her back to him, i am assuming that is what 77 is referring to :S. He tried writing but couldn't and so he is asking her to write to him maybe it will make the distance melt. I LOVE this song and the guitars at the end are so flippin sweeeeeet!
pretty sure its "light me up," not write me up

"met you here first back in 1986" not I met you first right here back in nascence

"you know it better be soon if you've gone away" not (You'll always have me on Sundays always)

Ben is talking about something that has been his foe for years, and it is a forever battle trying to conquer it

For the life of me, I don't get these stupid lyrics. I think it is EXACTLY about someone liking someone. And for whatever reason, he won't say he likes her. Too much of a chicken shit? But if he wants another day per se, then how can he make her promise something, if he can't even write to her?
It is all this emo angst shit that just drives me batty.
"Will not explain, will not explain". x10
How F*cking noble of him. If he can't talk to her--who can he talk to? What is he doing with her? Why is he with her? Bet he has TONS of people he could talk to, tons of other women, but he does not want them--he wants the one he can't talk to, the one he puts on a pedastal, and the one he won't ever get because deep deep down inside, he doesn't want her--it is the eternal chase.
B O R I N G.
I didn't even like the tune. The lyrics were repetitive and I would rather listen to Manilow.
