Ativan Lyrics
I slept til I threw up
I slept til I threw up
Gone are the days of
Wine and roses
They just make me
Nauseous now
I slept til I felt drunk
I slept while you had lunch
Lunch with a girl who
Has hair as
Soft as baby's breath
In morning
Lunch with a girl who
Takes time to
Listen to every word
You utter
I slept til I woke up
Then there was not much
Much to do so
I think of you
I crawl back
Between the sheets
I slept til I threw up
Wine and roses
They just make me
Nauseous now
I slept while you had lunch
Has hair as
Soft as baby's breath
In morning
Takes time to
Listen to every word
You utter
Then there was not much
I think of you
I crawl back
Between the sheets

Ativan is crazy its probably one of the most addictive Benzos out there it makes Xanax look like childs play you can get hooked on it after taking it for a week or so. I use to take lots of this stuff and some of the lines from this song really explain it well becuase its usually used for people with insomnia caused by high anxiety and it can last for up to 10 hours so sometimes youll go to sleep on it and really wake up feeling drunk or dizzy as hell and have to throw up. Also like all benzos you really like to hear yourself talk (you know the whole false empathy it causes) so sitting eating lunch somewhere telling someone every detail of your life saying alot of things you would usually be to scared to say I can totally relate to. I do have to say I really got into Deerhunter and Atlas sound when I was popping alot of pills and not becuase of this song but because when your taking alot of pills you really feel like you can relate to that whole dreamy haze that atlas sound puts out.
My favorite off the first album. "Ativan" is a drug that Bradford talked about taking alot on his blog.
ativan is some crazy stuff. took it once and crashed a car twice, blacked out for 2 days. not recommended, but makes for a good story. definitely not good for the brain.
Certainly one of the best tracks off the 1st Atlas Sound LP. Along with the ambient closing title track, this makes for a great way to close an album.
