A superficial celebrity who's winning over people who have average intelligence or below because the celebrity, whilst being smarter than them, isn't all what he or she is cracked up to be.
I agree that it's about falsehood and someone not being all they're perceived to be. But I don't think it's just about a celebrity. I, think it's also about people who seem stunning and smart, or maybe just incredibly wonderful people, and then you scratch a little beneath the surface, and you're taken out of the water, like a fish on a hook.
