Oh, Hello Ghost Lyrics

Glorious facade, slick tongue persistence
Syllable after syllable
Enchanting the artless
They're fish on hooks
Reel them in, cast them out

I see the flicker and burn
The breath inhaling the fumes
This temporary flame dances to a different tune
I see the flicker and burn
The breath inhaling the fumes
This temporary flame dances to a different tune

When you come to point your finger, you'll find three are pointing back
Can you taste the end?

Cover art for Oh, Hello Ghost lyrics by Rolo Tomassi

A superficial celebrity who's winning over people who have average intelligence or below because the celebrity, whilst being smarter than them, isn't all what he or she is cracked up to be.

I agree that it's about falsehood and someone not being all they're perceived to be. But I don't think it's just about a celebrity. I, think it's also about people who seem stunning and smart, or maybe just incredibly wonderful people, and then you scratch a little beneath the surface, and you're taken out of the water, like a fish on a hook.

'I see the flicker and burn The breath inhaling the fumes'

The flicker and burn, like a fading illusion, the breath inhaling the fumes, like an induced, shallow hallucination. And also 'slick tongue persistence'. Consistently fooling everyone, even those who know know the truth.

(But that's just me, I'm probably completely wrong. :P )
