First comment...okay...This song to me is saying that he knows he's hurt her, and he just wants to apologize, and move on without doing any more damage. He says, "this is my last goodbye, I've hurt you enough". As if to say, just live your life without me, because it'll make you happier. That's just my take. Great song!

no offense nimowns. but this song is obviously about a girl. " I Fucked up the last two years of your life", "Empty frames on the floor", "...diet of cheap beer and wasted love" those are all speaking of a girl. He is crushed. In the most pure of ways, he is crushed. He doesn't want to give up loving her, and he won't but he IS going to stop hassling her with it. He knows she deserves more. And he hopes if he doesn't come to her again and again, maybe, just maybe, one day that pain will numb and scar.
One of his first changes in his life. Getting rid of the girl that only made his life miserable.
You know when your in a relationship, and it reached that part where all you are doing is lying trying to keep things intact, but its only hurting both of you.

no offense Take This Chance you did well with the other songs but he doesn't dwell much on the subject of a girl in this one. I think it's just about his problems with alcoholism. he is on his way to a change because in this song, he is realizing that his life is wasting away.

i love the title of this song... i guess the relevance is the drinking... drinking is what fucked it up but he needs the drink to get him through the day.
