it's about that eerie stillness and quietness that you feel right after the death of a loved one or a tragedy in general. there's nothing to say; nothing matters the way it did before. no one knows what to say or do so you just don't do anything. there's nothing but quiet.

i think this song is about the violence and the pain that this person goes through in this town. I think that this person lives day after day living in a town that is dead and having to hear about people dying and the pain that people go through.

i totally agree with absolutebap. ive never thought of it in that way before but now just listening to it... its so repetitive in everything it keeps saying over and over. but its just like how your mind is so overwhelmed with this huge concept of someone not being alive anymore. and all you wanna do is just not think about it, but you really cant even think at all.

I first heard this song on one tree hill and that is probably the saddest scene ever on the show when this song was playing. It was the episode where it was Q's funeral and it was the end. The song is really powerful. I get emotional everytime I hear it. Especially the last 3 minutes of it!

My sister started using meth earlier this year. She was already on pills pretty bad, so she just kind of jumped right in and yeah, she's hooked. She isn't herself any more at all. She's blank, empty, dead. This song remind's me of her so much.

it kinda reminds me of the rapture with the line about people disappearing

I don't know how many One Tree Hill'ers are here, but this song had me bawling when they played it. Such a beautiful song.
