Song for Oceans Falling Lyrics

Out of the sky
Out of the sky
The ocean is falling
Out of the sky
Grand piano
Sinking in the surf
Turning the waves
Turning the waves
Grand old seagull
As seen from above
Is the ocean at fault
Is the undertow wrong
Out of the sky
Out of the sky
The ocean is falling
Out of the sky
Now tides they must try
For oceans to fall
Did anyone see it
No-one at all
Mist is oceans rising
But look out below
Storm clouds wave good-bye
Storm clouds wave good-bye
Mr. Compass
East, west, south and north
Who drifted off course
The ocean, of course
And what have we lost
Ten tall cities
Sinking in the surf
Towering tall
Towering tall
Tens of millions
Keep drifting off
Who drifted off course
The ocean has lost its way and heading this way
Has lost its way and heading this way
Has lost its way and heading this way

I agree, this song is amazing. I'm trying to figure out what the lyrics might be about. Being that his lyrics tend to be pretty introspective and come from a personal place, I could see this song being about him drawing objects in the sand and building sand castles, and then the water rises up and ruins them (ten tall cities sinking in the surf) in some kind of childhood memory. At the same time it almost seems like he is dropping references to climate change the way he talks about the oceans rising and drifting off course and so forth. What is your take?
