Insurrection Lyrics
Bow not before his creation these mortals: "Man"
This act of insult breeds our discontent
He turned his back on our loyalty
I will bring my insurrection and a war upon Heaven
I will bring my insurrection and a war upon Heaven
Hell-fire for this destruction for this war upon Heaven
Forged from fire
I declare this war
A war against Heaven
I bring upon my scourge
Filled with hubris
A declaration of war
It is I who spawns this fury
Torches ignite
Blaze is set to engulf all of which we hate
Storm in, eviscerate
Every motherfucker in our way
I will bring my insurrection
And a war upon Heaven
I will bring my insurrection and a war upon Heaven
Hell-fire for this destruction for this war upon Heaven
Forged from fire
I declare this war
A war against Heaven
I bring upon my scourge
Filled with hubris
A declaration of war
Ascend to the Heavens to destroy them all

This is about Luicifer seeing God deciving them 'he turned his back on our loyalty' and seeing Gods creation 'man' being an insult to the angels breeding discontent, he then wages war on hevean. This could be a metaphor for many things, put your minds to work replacin things with modern events and hopefully someone will think of something
FIRST POST! WOOOO anyway... this is a great song about, at least i think, about the story of Luicifer who wagged war in Heaven.
I'm pretty sure this song is heavily influenced by John Milton's "Paradise Lost." It's about Lucifer's rebellion against God and his disdain for God's new creation: Man and the subsequent war waged thereto. Some of the lyrics are practically straight out of the book.
"Hell-fire for this destruction for this war upon Heaven" should be.. "Hell-fire feed my destruction for this war upon Heaven"
idk the exact meaning it could be a metaphor for something political since a lot of the album seems that way. but you never know
Prob best song on album from what I've heard so far - it's certainly the one which flows the most, the other few that I've heard are a bit stop/start
Trivium starting to do my head in with the choruses though, might grow on me tho
The bridge makes this song. Its so insanely awesome!!! Best bridge i've ever heard, then it leads into a neck-shredding solo...Awesome...
its about the Japamese side of WWII, like the rest of this album
It's about Satan.
I don't think this is a metaphor for anything, i think it was just written as cool lyrical content, i mean there's not much political stuff on Shogun. I also think that Trivium have never really been good with the political lyrics, but these lyrics are too much like slayer
