It sounds more like Cronus he ate his children for fear of them gaining power higher than his, his wife tricked him into eating a rock, he vomited the kids out and they were so overwhelmed with anger that they turned into the Furies

I could be wrong but It doesn't matter to me that much

You're both right. It just depends on what mythology you're looking at. In Greek mythology, it's Cronus and Zeus, but to the Romans it was Saturn and Jupiter. The two mythologies have a lot of crossover, just with different names. As for this song, it is absolutely killer! "The Crusade" was my first Trivium album, but I was going to pass on "Shogun" when I heard it was more in the style of the first two albums. Then I heard this song and decided to get the album.

i don't think its what the song was about but when i heard the lines take your teeth out of me I have just begun to breathe on my own, it really made me think about abortion. So i dunno maybe theres an undertone there or something.

As far as I can tell, the song is about Cronus. If I remember correctly, Cronus' father, Uranus, devoured his children, and upon learning such, Cronos severed the genitals of his father. As he threw the severed flesh into the sea, the drops of blood that fell to the ground spawned the Furies. That's how the story goes. The irony, in true Greek tragedy fashion, is that Cronus was doomed to repeat the same sin on his children, Zeus being the one who eventually castrates him for doing so.

There's really nothing else it could be about. If you want to start splitting hairs, Uranus was one of two original deities that had just been in existence, without having been born or created, or to put it another way, emerged from Chaos. Descendant of Chaos? Everyone making the connection here?

The Erinyes are the Greek equivalent of the Furies (see rock_hawk's post) The king of Ruling Time- Cronus/Chronos, Father Time, with the Scythe of Harvesting Creating such beauty: The Goddess of Love-- while the blood drops that fell from Uranus'...piece created the Furies, The seafoam from the impact of said piece formed into Aphrodite/Venus, the goddess of love! This song is about the titan named Cronus, leader of the Golden Age who was afraid of being overthrown by his own children. As a consequence he devoured all of his children except Zeus as he was tricked by her wife, Rhea. Before his succession, his father Uranus was leading the Golden Age. He overthrew his father with the help of his mother Gaia. He severed the genitals of his father and the blood that flowed created different beings. The blood that fell to the sea created Aphrodite, the goddess of love. The blood which fell to the ground created Erinyes known as The Furies. These Erinyes were snake haired, bloodshot eyed, winged punishers of criminals.
