The Captain is Ryan Pardey, road manager for the band. He's Santa Claus in the video for A Great Big Sled. He's also brother to Rod Pardey aka Michael Valentine.

This isn't on my Sawdust. And my Mr. Brightside remix isn't even 9 minutes long so idk. :( I got it off of iTunes so I don't know why I don't have it.

It should be there. The Mr. Brightside remix is 8 minutes and 45 seconds long, if you let it keep playing after the song ends, The Captain should start at about the 9 minute 49 second mark. I have the cd but I know others who got it off itunes and they have it. Hope it's there, it's just a tiny song that shows off a bit of The Killers' humor
When I first heard The Captain it reminded me of Don't Shoot me Santa and it's a funny coincidence it's about the man who plays santa in the Don't Shoot me Santa video clip anyway I love the bit where it yells out he's the captian

I have no clue what this song is about. But, when I first bought the album, me and my friend (who is also a killers fan) were sitting in my living room, and I was looking at the track listing on wikipedia, and it said there was a hidden song, so we thought that was cool and went to check it out, and when this song came on we just laughed our asses off for a good 5 minutes.
