Twilight Of The Thunder God Lyrics
There comes Fenris' twin
His jaws are open wide
The serpent rises from the waves
Jormundgandr twists and turns
Mighty in his wrath
The eyes are full of primal hate
[Chorus]
Thor Odin's son
Protector of mankind
Rise to meet your fate
Your destiny awaits
Thor Hlôdyn's son
Protector of mankind
Rise to meet your fate
Ragnarök awaits
Vingthor rides to face
The snake with hammer high
At the edge of the world
Bolts of lightning fills the air
As Mjölner does its work
The dreadful serpent roars in pain
[Chorus]
Mighty Thor grips the snake
Firmly by it's tongue
Lifts his hammer high to strike
Soon his work is done
Victory against the giant snake
Leading to the death
Twilight of the thundergod
Ragnarök awaits
Twilight of the thundergod [Repeat: x3]
[Chorus]
His jaws are open wide
The serpent rises from the waves
Mighty in his wrath
The eyes are full of primal hate
Thor Odin's son
Protector of mankind
Rise to meet your fate
Your destiny awaits
Thor Hlôdyn's son
Protector of mankind
Rise to meet your fate
Ragnarök awaits
The snake with hammer high
At the edge of the world
As Mjölner does its work
The dreadful serpent roars in pain
Firmly by it's tongue
Lifts his hammer high to strike
Soon his work is done
Victory against the giant snake
Leading to the death
Twilight of the thundergod
Ragnarök awaits
Twilight of the thundergod [Repeat: x3]

This is a fucking sweet song, super catchy, and it's all about Thor killing the Giant Snake Jormungandr at Ragnarok. What's not to love?
I think it transmits the same feeling for us, smash, smash but trying to protect the people we love...

@R31D Fun Fact - Jormundgandr is one of Loki's sons. Not born of his Asgardian wife (Sigyn - they have 2 children - Nari or Narfi) but in secret born by a frost giant mother (jötunn Angrboða) - she had 3 babies with Loki - Jormundgandr - the snake, Fenrir a giant wolf and Hel the female depicted in the film as Odin's right hand .. in mythology she was one of Loki's children and banished to rule in Hel (The bad place - opposite of Valhalla) The snake was banished to the sea and the wolf chained up in...

the guitar solo is epic, one of the best from amon amarth.
The guitar solo was done by the rythem guitarist of Children Of Bodom

This Opening is EPIC, one of the best metal intro's I have ever heard.
this is one of my favorites of the album live for the kill is another good song
Amazing song! I absolutely love this band. But I noticed a lot of mistakes in the lyrics. Like the first line is supposed to be "There is Fenris' Twin" not "There is Fenris grim" and "The twin fold serpent roars in pain" should be "The Dreadful serpent roars in pain". Also "Vingthor slays the guardian snake Leading to the death" is really "Vingthor sends the giant snake bleeding to the depth"
I'm pretty sure the solo is from an appearance from the Children of Bodom guitarist. I could be wrong, but I'm 90% sure.
You are in fact 100% right. It's Roope Latvala of COB

when Roope Latvalan from COB doing the solo in this song, it gave me goosebumps. haha! i'm a guitarist too in my band. my band had cover this song several times. this song is certainly one of the best AMON AMARTH song! i wish they will come to my country \m/
Does anyone know who Hlodyn is? Google isnt getting me anywhere...
She is one of Odin's wives who gave birth to Thor and Meili. But the lyrics are quite obvious that she is Thor's mother. A more common name for her is Jörd, which should turn up more results.

Does anyone else think the video of this song was way better than that baby-faced Goldilocks bastardization of a movie?
