I absolutely love this song. God is always there for us when we need Him to cry with us.

"?I wrote ?Hold My Heart? with two friends, Phillip LaRue and Jason Ingram. Phillip and I at the time were both going through separate situations, but a really rough time. [We were] just grappling to understand why God would let certain things happen. We had lunch that day and we were talking about it and the conclusion we came to is really what the bridge says. It says, ?There?s so many questions without answers, but your promises remain.? Basically what that is saying is you know what? Sometimes we aren?t going to get the answers we want, but we still have God?s promises and the tough part of that is when Jesus said to us, ?I will never leave you nor forsake you,? but your whole world feels like he?s done exactly that, it is no small thing to hold onto the truth and cling to that truth. ?Hold My Heart? is a psalm. it's about a person who is emotionaly/verbily ect abused or someone in a financhial state ect "oh i can't spell today!" and there tired of being alone and tired of wondering if theres something more so there throwing it all away and asking god to take full controll cause they can't stand it anymore.

This song goes with Psalms 31. Sometimes, it seems as though God is no longer interested in your case. It seems you have been ghosted. In the Psalm, David struggles with his thoughts and he is depressed. He feels ready to die (literally or figuratively), he is desperate. This feeling is express in the line, "I'm on my knees, begging you to notice me..." Both songs open with a demand for divine attention and end with the singer deciding to place his confidence in God's faithfulness. They conclude that even when it's bleak or we cannot understand what and why, God's promises remain. So they'll bet on God.
