This song is relatively easy to understand, and is just a testament to love. She loved someone and now the relationship is over. She can be happy and move on, but she will always love him no matter where life takes her. I think that just speaks to human nature. I was in love once, and our relationship is over and we hardly ever talk anymore. I am starting to see someone else now, and I am truly getting over the initial emotional turmoil that is inevitable, but regardless, part of me wants to go back, and I will always have a love for him. The part of this song that really "gets me" so to say, in terms of evoking emotion, is "You were supposed to come with me, all I ever wanted was to be with you". It's like she was abandoned, and it's tragic and sad.
