Stillborn Lyrics

It's not a question of wanting you
If I thought I could, I would
As the clouds roll in at will
And I got to keep on moving to be still

Still

In the time it takes for you to wake
The calm I feel has slipped away
And I am left here in this open space

It's not a question of wanting to
If I thought I could, I would
But the clouds roll in at will
And there's always something
Inside that can't be killed
That won't be still

In the time it takes for you to wake
The calm I feel has slipped away
And I am left here in this open space

The suffocating choice of
The suffocating choice of
The suffocating choice of anyway

This sounds nothing like any other brian jonestown song i've heard but its also one of my favorites, beautiful.

The vocalist loves another person but cannot stay with them because of the vocalist's recurring depression, which pushes the vocalist, almost against their will, to move on to the next place, in an recurring and futile attempt to avoid figurative clouds, representing in this case undesirable and, so far, inexorable negative thought patterns in the vocalist's mind. It's a very sad and beautiful song; it nails bittersweet to a T.
