Broken Things Lyrics

You can have my heart
But it isn’t new
It's been used and broken
And only comes in blue
It's been down a long road
And it got dirty on the way
If I give it to you
Will you make it clean
Wash the pain away

You can have my heart
If you don't mind
Broken things
You can have my heart
If you don't mind
These tears
I heard that you
Make all things new
So I give
These pieces all to you
If you want it
You can have my heart

So beyond repair
Nothing I could do
I tried to fix it myself
But it was only worse
When I got through
But then you walked right
Into my darkness
And you speak words
So sweet
You hold me like a child
'Til my frozen tears
Fall at your feet

You can have my heart
If you don't mind
Broken things
You can have my heart
If you don't mind
These tears
I heard that you
Make all things new
So I give
These pieces all to you
If you want it
You can have my heart

Cover art for Broken Things lyrics by Jennifer Paige

She wrote this on her website:

"Occasionally, you hear a song that speaks to you in a special way, as in the case with 'Broken Things'. A friend if mine introduced me to a version of this song. Sung bye an Irish singer, and I could not get enough. I remember lying on the floor of my studio, almost underneath my keyboard, pressing play over and over until I couldn't hear it any more. I was fascinated by this song, and it spoke to me. We've all been there, heartbroken and scared to start over. But somehow we know that it's important to eventually take that leap again. This is the ultimate song of famous 'Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. But, in the moment that you are the one in that place, you might need a reminder like this one to get you back on your feet again. My brother, Chance Scoggins, produced this song for me in Nashville."
