The Shock of the Lightning Lyrics
I feel cold but im back in the fire,
Outta control but i'm tied up tight,
Come in, Come out tonight.
I feel love in the shock of the lightnin',
I fall into the biding light,
Come in, Come out,
Come in, come out tonight.
Up on the silver screen,
It's all in my mind,
Love is a ???
A magical mystery,
And all in good time,
And all in good time,
And all in good time....
But I can't stop flyin,
My heads in the clouds,
But atleast i'm tryin,
I'm out of control but im tied up tight,
Come in, come out tonight.
Into which i'm fallin,
???
To the sound of a poundin,
I fall into the bindin light,
Come in, Come out,
Come in, Come out tonight.
Up on the silver screen,
It's all in my mind,
Love isn't new to me,
A magical mystery,
And all in good time,
And all in good time,
And all in good time....
Love is a time machine,
Up on the silver screen,
But all in good time,
All in good time,
And all in good time...
I reckon its about lying in bed early in the morning and thinking to yourself that you might really love a girl. I'm all over my heart's desire - he knows what his heart wants, hes outta control - his head filled with all these dream and visons of them together - but hes tied up tight meaning that he can't fully let himself go yet. 'god speak to the sound of the pounding' - his heart is racing thinking of her and he wants to know what it means... so he thinks its love but tries to deny it 'love is a time machine up on the silverscreen' - maybe love doesn't exist and its just a great invention they use in movies. so again he tries to deny the feelings that he loves her "its all in my mind". but hes praying to find out what it means because love is 'magical mystery' and he supposes he will find out 'all in good time' whether it all works out. Ps i think 'the shock of the lightning' means he wasn't expecting the spark to be there between them.
God your interpretation makes me love the song even more :D thanks =)

noel obviously borrows ideas and lyrics...but you actually think he ripped off dylan? give me a break; if you get that technical about any song writing you can link any two artists together. the lyrics are not lame, the lyrics are simplistic and even in order to reach everyone.
I didn't mean to say he ripped off. sorry if it seemed that way. just a reference to Dylan (one of Noel's heroes).
and I see what you mean with the lyrics being simplistic, and it's sure OK. but I still find them somewhat lame. I mean, what is this anyway: "Love is a time machine / up on the silver screen."
Like ur style bigrobbo. sounds good
I believe the line is
'Love is a litany A magical mystery,'
This song is pretty rockin'
Actual lyrics:
I'm all over my heart's desire I feel cold but I'm back in fire Out of control, but I'm tied up tight Come in, come out tonight
Coming up in the early morning I feel love in the shock of the lightning I fall into the blinding light Come in, come out Come in, come out tonight
Love is a time machine Up on the silver screen It's all in my mind Love is a litany A magical mystery And all in good time And all in good time And all in good time
I got my feet on the street But I can't stop flying My head's in the clouds But at least I'm trying I'm out of control But I'm tied up tight Come in, come out tonight
There's a hole in the ground Into which I'm falling So God, speak to the sound of the pounding I'm all into the blinding light Come in, come out Come in, come out tonight
Love is a time machine Up on the silver screen It's all in my mind Love is a litany A magical mystery And all in good time And all in good time And all in good time
It's all in my mind Love is a time machine Up on the silver screen And all in good time And all in good time And all in good time
Noel does Dylan here: "I'm out of control but i'm tied up tight" Dylan's line in "things have changed" was: "I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range" The lyrics are lame again, by the way. The music's exciting though.
I think this song explains the mysteries and realities of love in everyday life. I could of course be completely wrong but that is just what it seems to me. This is a good direction for Oasis however.
"Love is a time machine / up on the silver screen" I always thought that referred to the simplicity of love/life in general portrayed in those old school movies and he wants to go back to that.
From what I gathered from the latest interviews the new album seems to have a darker tone than this single. So, hopefully there won't be lovey-dovey and poppy songs there. Liam says: “It’s a dark album with some dark lyrics. At least there’s no Wonderwall on there. I can’t fing stand that fing song!" And Noel says his songs have biblical influences and the album is like "religious Armageddon" with no pop songs.
I think dark psychedelic songs, like "Gas Panic", suits them fine. At least better than poppy drivel like "Lyla" or something.
