S.A.D Light Lyrics
Winter blues no love for you
Seasons change in a gothic way
10,000 lux to light us up
In these winter nights if I’m wandering all alone
I’ll turn on my S.A.D. light
As I’m staring at Alpha Centauri
All I can see is low its glow seems so far
How did I get to this point of things playing
So heavy on my heart
Twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
I’ll turn on my S.A.D. light
Seasons change in a gothic way
10,000 lux to light us up
In these winter nights if I’m wandering all alone
All I can see is low its glow seems so far
How did I get to this point of things playing
So heavy on my heart
Twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are

i think its safe to say this is about seasonal affective disorder. being depressed at winter etc
I think it could be a form of escapism. The reference to Alpha Centauri, a alien galaxy to us. Also, the nursery rhyme reference escaping to happier times.
best song on the album in my opinion. i agree with brindle, it obviously has something to do with seasonal affective disorder
This song is most definitely about Seasonal Affective Disorder. A lot of people with this condition use light therapy to combat the depression, you can buy these giant fluorescent lights and sit in front of them. Sometimes I feel like I could use a S.A.D. light... especially when i listen to this song haha
dude.. last winter I needed a s.a.d. light, but they're so expensive! maybe this winter i'll just listen to this song instead.
