Coming Down Is Calming Down Lyrics

Facing forwards, sinking in thin air
Help me to learn to breath again
I know I’ve lost my way
So show me
There are demons inside my head
I always let them win
I have to learn to suffocate them
The lost ask for a hand
But I can’t stop, I never stop
I’ve been losing my footing here
I’m all mixed up in this
I need some kind of change
God make it stop, I can’t make it stop
This place is getting smaller
Everything in your darkest thoughts about me might be true
I hear the words you say, I still feel nothing
I put my voice out there for you to hear
But the words never made much sense to you
I’ve lost my path
I’m fading fast
Time is short
Time is up
This is really my plan
To get out in one piece
Is this really your plan
To keep me lost and on my knees
I say redemption
Can someone help me hold on

It is incredibly obvious that the majority of this album and Define are about Spencer's struggles with his addictions, one rather blatant indication of which would be the phrase "coming down" in the title. He has openly admitted that he has/had a serious drug problem and I personally wouldn't interpret direct quotes from him as rumours. But that's just me. :)

The song to me looks like someone who is losing faith in God, but they know it's the wrong thing. And they need someone to show them the way again.

Again I think this is about how Spencer NEEDS God to help him overcome his addiction cuz he's allowed drugs to take over

No lemon. youre an idiot. It is not a rumor. Pick up the newest copy of Alternative Press. Spencer was a cocaine addict.

Traceoflight is right. This information is even gave on the AP of octobre 2006.

And I think it's okay to talk about addiction to this song, but only as an example. Spencer speaks about any temptations to which you have to resist. He recognizes that he cannot do this on his own, but needs help. To read the bible and to be a good christian is not enough for the singer to resist, but he wants to! And so he's wondering if God will let him fight against his demons alone, he needs one presence, he needs a physical effect of redemption in his fight, an act from heaven as an answer to his call. All of that is my though about this song.

The circus, your an idiot. The drugs was a RUMOR. Go search anywhere. Aaron said that if spencer was having trouble with drugs, the band would have said something.

The circus is NOT an idiot. Try educating yourself on the band before you call someone else an idiot. Sure, it was a rumor at first, but Spee did go public with his struggle with drug addictions. He finally told the other guys in the band at Warped '06. There was an artice (the cover article to be exact) that talked about it in October '08's issue of Alt Press. This song IS about his problems with drugs.
