The Created Void Lyrics

Let’s do this for each other
Let’s do this for truth
I give for you, you give for me
Let me take you somewhere I can’t explain
I’m stumbling right in front of you now
I won’t refrain from guiding you there
Normal is not so far
Was it just a dream
Or something much more
We are not alone
Since you agreed to follow
It’s all in my head, if you want, you can look inside
There’s nothing but red and all the mess I’ve been
It’s all in the way I say what I don’t mean, and mean what I don’t
I need to speak of you and what is real
They will never understand
What eats at our insides

one of the best songs on the album deffinately

In my opinion this song is about Scenario... A boy trying to lead his girl friend to make the right choices in life i make a step forward in making a good decision and in return you help me by making the same good choice whether its "God" or just simple everyday life choices "I give for you, you give for me") But also stating that hes not perfect and has made wrong choices before but looks past that and is still TRYING to do good and make good decisions hes been there before but doesn't make the same bad mistakes and...

It seems to me this is definitely about witnessing. The beginning of the song is about him trying to explain it but not being able to the best he wants to. If you have every witnessed, you most definitly know what he is saying. One of the key lines in the song to me is "We are not alone, since you agreed to follow". The person he is not going to stop from "guiding" accepted Christ, so he/she isnt alone. I could go on and try to explain every single part but i think you get the just of it. Hes witnessing, doesnt get it out as he wishes he could, the person accepts and now its "they wont understand", the people he witnessed to is on the inside now, looking out.

@chef4christ fuck your christ they re no longer a gospel band hahaha

I truly wish people would realize that "christian" bands like Underoath do write about things other than religion. It's unfortunate enough that such a talented band would choose to label themselves so boring, tired, and ridiculous.

This song is obviously about some sort of personal struggle (something Underoath writes about a lot), and likely has nothing to do with religion. It sounds, to me, like this is about two people finding some sort of connection to each other through something they aren't proud of. The obvious cliche possibilities being a drug/alcohol addiction, or forbidden love, but the specifics aren't really important. Actually, let's say it's about a homosexual couple, just for irony. A Christian band writing about the struggles of a gay couple tickles me.

some of the lines in this song, make me think its about someone trying to make someone realize that god is truth and he is the answer. but, some others confuse me. i dunno. i might be far off. :[ eh. cant wait for that flippin' album!!!!

i think its about a guy and a girl and how hes saying this time they'll be together for just who they are and that nobody will ever understand how much their drowning inside. which is when "you can look inside/ theres nothing but red and all the mess ive been" comes in. and how they are dying inside and all they need is eachother.

I agree the song is about the narrator not being able to communicate his relationship has with Christ very clearly to others that don't have one. My favorite lines: "There’s nothing but red and all the mess I’ve been" "I say what I don’t mean, and mean what I don’t" "They will never understand What eats at our insides"

I think the last line really emphasizes the separation he feels when he can't share it properly.

its not about a boy/girl relationship as some of you have said. im actually laughing at rehhh's comment haha, but anyways...you gotta understand bands like this, as well as, as i lay dying...have pretty much gone the route of being a complete christian band, and writing pretty everything towards that. this song definitely has something to do with christ, and the narrators relationship with him and how he struggles to get his point across as it seems.
