Bye Bye Bye Lyrics
What's gonna happen to you?
You have woke up too soon and found the world rearranged.
And now your feelings have changed.
Say goodbye to before.
"Bye, bye, bye."
You are not welcome anymore.
The door's been shown to you.
"Bye, bye, bye."
But only if you go through.
You run into the night.
No sound, no vision, no sight.
And no words to explain, just smell; tints of change.
Whats gonna happen to you?
"Bye, bye, bye."
You have woke up to soon.
And the world is rearranged.
And now your feelings have changed.
Oh, today I saw a shadow.
And I had the feeling there would be another.
One in the wintertime and one in the summer.
"Bye, bye, bye."
When the river was still, we would not help ourselves.
It's very easy to do.
We never needed to.
And the birds are high.
"Bye, bye, bye."
Started a fire in the forest.
Can you remember the day-
"Bye, bye, bye."
We had to separate?
And nobody knows what's tearing us apart.
Cause we're part of one another.
A son and a father, a mother and a brother.
When the river was still.
"Bye, bye, bye."
We would not help ourselves.
"Bye, bye, bye."
It's very easy to do.
We never needed to.
Oh, today I saw a flower.
And I had the feeling there would be another.
One in the wintertime and one in the summer.
Whats gonna happen to you?
What's going to happen?
What's going to happen?
What's going to happen?
What's going to happen to you?
You have woke up too soon.
What's going to happen to you?
You have woke up too soon.
What's going to happen to you?
You have woke up to soon.

I first heard this song when it aired in the 3rd season of NBC's 'Chuck', episode 13. I instantly loved it, and I must say that every time I hear it, it will forever bring to mind that wonderful moment in television history, the true beginning of Chuck & Sarah's epic relationship. For those of you who have not yet seen the show, I highly recommend checking it out! Although it has now ended, they gave us 5 seasons of one of the most memorable shows ever made!
The lyrics of this song remind me of the film Dark City. If you haven't seen it, the film's plot consists of a society of people monitored by an alien race that has harnessed the ability to physically and psychologically rearrange the city and its inhabitants every night. At midnight, the aliens stop time, emerge from out of the shadows and swap different fabricated sets of memories between the citizens. The aliens have created these memory sets to create certain types of people...essentially, "programs" to precipitate different human beings: successful entrepreneurs, racists, murders, happy couples, etc. Ultimately, their goal is to see if anyone will act against the "programs" and exhibit free will.
The protagonist of the film is a man who "wakes up too soon" during one of these injection/rearranging processes and tries to get to the bottom of the alien occupation.
Completely off the mark, I know, but I think of it nevertheless.
Is it weird I think of Quebec Seperation with this song?
words are wrong but very good song
i think the words are artistic and some of them have meaning beyond what you read.
good tune, this and time to pretend were the best free singles of the week.
It's about living in the past in the hopes that riding out the present will bring you to a future that's just like that past. Or rather, it's about (violently) coming out of that state and ultimately, accepting it.
Images like the still river and the perennial flowers and shadows speak to this anti-temporal idea. The world is different because you're different.
Think to Like a Rolling Stone. This band seems possibly to have heard Sufjan. Just sayin'.
