The Illusion

The stage at my feet
is not part of me, the way I'm
perceived contradicts my beliefs,
my heads in a mess about where
I should be, and I'd understand
if you want to leave
When you see how this started
it kinda ruins the illusion
but this what we had wanted
and I don't wanna be
bringing you down if I'm falling,
though I can't explain how this feels now,
all of our fears could be right through

The flaws in our lives
remind me of why it's better
we learn than go in blindly
and burn, my regret is met
with anxiety, and I understand
