Brookie May Lyrics

If I had followed you out,
If I had tried, but I found in spite,
I'd refrain, and if it's me you're
Waiting for well I can't blame you
If needed to leave,
and now I'm starting to see

October soon became March
so slowly, six months was more
than you said you'd need,
and if I thought that there was something
that I could say or I could do
that you would believe,
and now I'm starting to see

Just how important you've been

In this song can I give you
a sound to call home?
just some chords to keep with you
if you feel alone, although I
can feel in my heart your alright,
and now I'm starting to see

I book my flights for the first
And last time, that I would see you
as I recall, and in this white dress
in front of me beside a man in
whom I firmly believe,
now I'm starting to see

Just how important you've been

In this song can I give you
a sound to call home?
just some chords to keep with you
if you feel alone, although I
can feel in my heart your alright,
and now I'm starting to see

Sort of sounds to me like it's about a bloke who is with a girl, but he doesn't see how serious she wants it to be so she calls for some time away..... ends up falling apart for good, he regrets it. This next part is purely interpretational..... sounds to ME like she falls for his best friend and marries him (hence "And last time, that I would see you as I recall, and in this white dress in front of me beside a man in whom I firmly believe"). i suppose it could mean his father and that they got back together, but why the "first, and last time"? unless it's not "and it this white dress", but instead "in this white dress"? that would make a bit more sense, coz a white dress means she's a virgin, and usually, the honeymoon changes that...... interesting concept. really awesome song though. I love In Fiction. Good Adelaide band. :)

This is actually written about Brads best friend Brooke and the relationship they have had over the past decade. It is a beautiful tribute to her.
