"rainbringer" is like a person bring bad news. From what i see, its about someone who deceived him, more specifically a lover. He's rising above and moving on. Just my thoughts b/c of the line I've heard in many places "Bring the rain" as in wreak havoc/destroy/batter into nothing on something or someone.

Yeah it does seem like it's referring to a lover that deceived him.
It sounds to me like the Rainbringer is a personification of deception, amazing song and band. They deserve more recognition.
