I think that this song is about a person that has cheated on their spouse but the person has ended the ties with the person they where cheating with and is now asking for forgiveness from their spouse. I really like the line "...and I wanted freedom so I broke their laws/But freedom don't come from rejecting them/But from not being tempted at all..."
