Hollywise Lyrics

She’s been living in a basement
Down by the railroad tracks
Her dreams have all left the station
The kids have all turned their backs
So she lies in her bed and remembers
When the moon it climbs so high
But with a spoon and a needle
She never has to leave the sky

Superman is killing himself tonight
Hollywise Hollywise
I'm selling my soul to be in the spotlight
Hollywise Hollywise

Hollywise

He’s been living with his mama
Since the market crashed
His wife ran out with the doctor
When he ran out on cash
But now one hand holds a bottle
The other cradles the .44
Two more shots and it’s over
He just couldn’t hang on no more

Superman is killing himself tonight
Hollywise Hollywise
I'm selling my soul to be in the spotlight
Hollywise Hollywise

Hollywise

Superman is killing himself tonight
Hollywise Hollywise
I'm selling my soul to be in the spotlight
Hollywise Hollywise

Superman is killing himself
But superman is killing himself tonight
Superman is killing himself
But superman won’t kill himself tonight

I think this song is about how not even the strongest of us can make it in the hollywood life. We all want to go so far and when we try we fall and crash and all that's left is destroyed, so we try to self-medicate with drugs and some end up turning to suicide. Not everyone can sell their souls for spotlight.

just about how even the good people in life can turn bad. 'superman is killing himself tonight' refers to how he's mad at himself that he couldnt save them. possible because he didnt expect those people to be the bad ones.

This song is obviously about everything in his life going wrong so then he starts shooting heroin and then later he realizes its not worth it so he puts the needle down and does better with his life

My Opinion

AMAZING song but I believe that it's "I'm selling my soul to be in the spotlight" not 'I tell him my sort of bein' of a lie' That just doesn't even make sense... Sooooo You're Dumb....
