Kirisute Gomen Lyrics
He who walks the fire breathes
Unlike the rest
Living by the bloody creed
Kirisute gomen
Air of battle tasting stale
Reeks of deceit
Send the bitter straight to hell
Kirisute gomen
In their wretched guts all they want is to feed
Unending, covetous hunger known as greed
As the last legion makes it's way to the skies
I can see in their eyes
They've already died
Inside, but as for the outside
I'll take their fucking heads
Quake has bred with the storm
Conceiving war
Wicked stampeding hordes
Kirisute gomen
I will never be what they
Want me to
I live by my own path in life
No turning
Back now, I won't be held down
Forced into a shallow grave built upon their empty ways
There's no turning back
There's hell to pay, such disarray
A bloodied mess, flesh masquerade
With all the blood making a flood
You made your path by crossing us
He who spits the fire seethes
All he detests
Decapitating, bloody creed
Kirisute gomen
Unlike the rest
Living by the bloody creed
Kirisute gomen
Reeks of deceit
Send the bitter straight to hell
Kirisute gomen
Unending, covetous hunger known as greed
As the last legion makes it's way to the skies

Kirisute Gomen is an old Japanese expression dating back to the Feudal Era where Samurai had the right to strike at anyone of a lower class who was compromising their honor.
In the song, it describes the band's attitude on those who try to undermine them that not only will they not be what they expect from them, but will take them down as well.
In summary, the expression "Kirisute Gomen" serves as a metaphor for the band and how they will deal with their antagonists/critics/enemies/etc.
i agree with sonic raider, i think mostly it's a big "fuck you" to all the people that compare trivium to metallica.
Best song on the new album, period.
2ns best song on the album next to shogun
Definitely a huge "fuck you" to those that said they were trying to be Metallica when they released The Crusade (which was a SICK album by the way). I'm glad they've finally found their sound and are rolling with it.
i agree, i wasnt a HUGE fan of ascendancy and then when i picked up the crusade i was hooked, but now with shogun they have fucking massacred my ear drums, i love it lmao... seen them in toronto 2 years ago and im going to see them again in a few weeks in toronto again gonna be EPIC!!!

Doubt it is a "fuck you" since Trivium are HUGE fans of Metallica.

sounds like sonic raider has is right on, its got like the dual meaning with literal being the samurai thing and the deeper meaning being them taking a shot at their critics/haters.
The meaning of the song aside, it is all around bad ass. Definitely what you can always seem to expect from them. I am so stoked to be seeing them Oct. 14th.
I love the inclusion of Japanes culture seeing as Heafy is Half Japanese.
I also find it Ironic that the ad above thos post a comment box is advertising Samurai girl on ABC Family. I don't know if it is there for everyone else, but it is for me.
The new Album is going to be so rad.
yeah id say sonic got it perfectly. awesome song. i love how the shogun chorus is the intro. i freaked out when i heard it lol. the intro sounds very.... spooky.
I adore this song. My favorite parts are the chorus and the bridge, when they say: "I'll take their fucking heads." Makes me wish I was Samurai.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned what Kirisute Gomen actually means.
Yes, it was used to strike someone down in feudal Japan from Samurai but it actually translates basically an apology for killing you.
Gomen means "Sorry"
Yes, it's something that the Samurai would say to those were compromising their honor, or basically disrespecting them. "It basically means, 'I apologize in advance for striking you down.'"
