Get Seduced Lyrics

Tabloid magazines are made in hell
The falling stars are getting sucked down
We get seduced easy
We get, we get seduced

They sell us magazines about the stars
And watch us stare into the void
What not to wear to the awards
Whose tit escaped on camera
Now these creeps are climbing up the trees
The neighbors calling the police
They’re snapping pictures by the pool
We get seduced so easy

Check-out clerks all thumping toward the page
An A-list starlet shaved her braids
While starving millionaires complain
TV makes their ass fat
Tell us

How rad is it living in a microscope
Broadcasting into every single living room
Hot lights on your love life
Let me buy close-up tabloids
Shots of your cellulite

Hypnotizing pages of advice
The mad demented fashion do’s or dies
Who put this hook inside my mouth
You, you’re getting so obsessed
It’s all you talk about
We’re gossip hounds on a couch

How rad is it living in a microscope
Broadcasting to every single living room
Hot lights on your love life
It’s not love
That’s sex on the first night

How rad is it living in a microscope
Broadcasting to every single living room
Hot lights on your love life
Let me buy close-up tabloids
Shots of your cellulite

Celebrity obsession it seems like. Such a superficial world. Reminds me of all the entertainment news shows making Huge deals out of very normal things because they are done by Celebrities.

Britney spears shaving her head. etc.

It's like, most people are worried about these things?! The World has much more important things to attend to. Things that actually deserve to be called 'problems'.

the average idiot american Lives by the TV and eats all this junk up. The World's intelligence is rapidly declining.

In the previous few comments, the song's meaning has been pretty much covered, I just wanted to add a few little tidbits.

Clearly the song is about the corruption of Hollywood society and it vehemently dismisses regular society's obsession with the stars. But, as hinted at in the line, "...and watch us stare into the void" a different kind of obsession seems to be at hand. Not only do people love the stars simply because they provide cheap entertainment, it's almost as if we gravitate towards such out of misery/unhappiness/boredom caused by our own lives, aka "the void" mentioned above.

Like Poly61 said, another main issue addressed in the song is celebrities' insistence on complaining about such trivial problems, such as looking fat on TV, etc. It's these stars' lives that are being corrupted, as well as those of the general public. "It's not love, that's sex on the first night." Everything has been reduced to simple thrills and fixes - not anything worthwhile.

The chorus pretty much wraps everything up, though. What IS "rad" about living life under the harshly judgmental magnifying glass of the paparazzi and Big Brother America? What do we find attractive in these stars' pathetic lives and WHY?

Degradation at its best (or worst, depending on how you want to look at it).

Yeah, this song's pretty self explainatory. Everyone is obsessed with celebrities, and tabloid magazines. I'm going to say that this is one of my favorites on the album. I love the line "It's not love, that's sex on the first night"

Creates the social setting for the rest of the album.
