Snowdrops Lyrics
The day breaks your battered heart,
The sun rips your world apart,
And we will see it fall,
Yeah we will see it fall
Live each day if it is your last,
The life lost in a photograph,
And we will join them all,
Yeah we join them all
We are just falling snow,
So settle down, settle down
And I will slow your fall,
That is all, that is all
We are just falling snow,
Just settle down, just settle down,
And I will slow your fall,
That is all, that is all
We are both falling snow,
So settle down, just settle down,
And in amongst them all,
The little man, stands tall
The sun rips your world apart,
And we will see it fall,
Yeah we will see it fall
The life lost in a photograph,
And we will join them all,
Yeah we join them all
So settle down, settle down
And I will slow your fall,
That is all, that is all
Just settle down, just settle down,
And I will slow your fall,
That is all, that is all
So settle down, just settle down,
And in amongst them all,
The little man, stands tall

carpe diem! or so it seems, because these lines are a bit confusing:
"And I will slow your fall, That is all, that is all
(...)
And in amongst them all, The little man, stands tall"
Another great PT song about loss..my feeling is that the first verse is about the devastation of losing someone through death. The second about the lesson learnt through loss, of living life for the moment and the harsh reality of acceptance that we will all eventually die. The chorus alludes to how we are just part of the big picture, just falling snow being a metaphor, meaning dont fret, just enjoy what you have now. I will slow your fall is the difference someone makes to your life, the part they play in your journey but also a reminder that they cannot halt the inevitable. The little man is any one of us, a reminder that no matter how small or insignificant, we all play our part in the world and leave our mark.
