I've had this song for awhile and never listened to it. So I just did and I'm in love with it. I love Brighten.
Anyway, I think this song is about this girl Carolina. He feels distance between them. Either just plain distance or they've broken up. He's singing about how he thinks about her and how this is better for them, which he's lying. Then in the second verse, he's saying that they can still communicate, asking how her family is, etc. Whateva, I suck at analyzing songs!
