I love this song. It's just about being somebody's everything. She wants to be the person he turns to in the hard times, and she wants to help him.
At first I thought that it was about one person reaching out to another but the more I listened to it, I think there is something deeper there. That it might be a sort of spiritual song? I am not really sure how much faith Sugarland has or anything...just a thought.
Either way, beautiful song.
This is definitely about wanting to be that somebody you're lover turns to when the times are hard. I love it because we all want to be that somebody for someone, even if it's just a friend.

i think this may be my favorite sugarland song! it really is a gorgeous song. it is all about being there for that someone no matter what they are going through. thats a really hard message to capture in a song but i think sugarland once again did it perfectly
To me it sounds like addiction. "A nickel to buy a smile" "the bottle you've been drinking with your eyes" "demons"
Just sounds to me like someone has a loved one that is dealing with addiction and they are almost BEGGING them to let her help them
