I love this song so much<3 It's my all time favorite song. To me, it's about an important person coming into his life and she has no one to talk to until she meets him. From the lyrics: "I've been waiting so long for these words to come out, It's practically all I've been thinking about So thank you for finding the words I couldn't find on my own, now I'm not alone."
And at the end, when they leave each other, they still love each other, but they don't want to leave. And even though she is leaving, she shows she stills loves him by saying "I've been waiting so long..."

I personally think in this song two people have both found what they were looking for, but one of them has to leave but they are still in love :(
