5805 Lyrics
Friends,
i will keep you like trophies in my heart,
to remember how loneliness was a faded dream, on 219th street.
We were more than just young, we were full of it.
And no-one could touch us, or take us in.
Watching the sunset from the roof,
we planned our next adventure.
I was nineteen and young,
thought I had it all figured out.
The world was our oyster,
and we dove in to get the pearl out.
Now we are swimming in memories
How we wish we could go back
I've got a sneaking suspicion,
that hindsight only favors good vision,
but I'm not one to complain,
when it's all I dream of.
We were more than just useless and stupid kids,
The music, it moved us, we shook our fists
as we sang along, at the top of our lungs
Now we are swimming in memories
How we wish we could go back
We hold the hope that someday we'll see the world again.
Like that, like that, like that,
Now we are swimming in no memories
How we wish we could go back
We hold the hope that someday we'll see the world again.
Like that, like that,
Oh, like that, like that.
Yeah!

Yeah!
Add your song meanings, interpretations, facts, memories & more to the community.
i think the meaning is simply that he wishes he could go back to being young and enjoying life more.
"Now we are swimming in memories"
and that he remembers how good life was with his friends. also, that he wishes he could fix something back then. awesome song :)
5805 is the house number that the guys used to live in, on 219th street. thats why it says that in the song as well. and the song is bout the memories they had living in that house. they posted a bulliten on myspace about it, because they sold 5805 copies of their cd the first cd. cool huh?
?=that hindsight :) And I think that the chorus is "swimming in memories" ...not in "no more reefs"
As for the meaning, I just think it has to do with wishing time hadn't gone by so fast... "Now we are swimming in memories, how we wish we could go back"
I don't know...
anyone have any idea what the significance of "5805" is?
maybe a zip code or something? lol even though my zip code's 5 numbers....
or a childhood address or something.. i dont know. maybe it acttually means something and isn't personal...
I love this song.
It could be a date, like The Spill Canvas' song. It could be like 5/8/05.
Its about being young and being alive.
Ya the song is about being young and alive
"? only favors convention" is actually "hindsight only favors good vision". great song!
opps i ment to say they sold 5805 copies of their cd [the silver cord of course] the first week.
? should be...... that hindsight, only favors could vision.....
