Doesn't Make a Difference Lyrics
There's something here to hide, though you know just where to find me
Excuses pile high as I plan my escape
Glimpse as your passing by, safe from this stale existence
Much to your surprise my embarrassment
I've come to resent
Fortunately ill be leaving this place, served years beyond what anyone could take
Made a fool of myself watching them climb, while the others jumped ship I'd stay behind
And the distance you've made linked to how little you make
Indifference follows bitterness then failure to concentrate, on how little you care, you care about this place, just how little you care
Its all in the way you place each phrase.
Do it delicately and watch the pace. When twisting the truth distract with your hands.
Its all in the way, all in the way.
Now that I'm inside
Sweating through winters protection
One glance you'll recognize all my failed attempts
And in that same exchange
The sudden realization that not one thing has changed
I've come to expect
And the distance you've made linked to how little you make
Indifference follows bitterness then failure to concentrate, on how little you care, you care about this place, just how little you care
Its all in the way you place each phrase.
Do it delicately and watch the pace. When twisting the truth distract with your hands.
Its all in the way, all in the way.
I've warned you not to go
Barely alive, exaggerating, just wasting time your so complacent,
Its all in the way
It doesn't make a difference
Excuses pile high as I plan my escape
Glimpse as your passing by, safe from this stale existence
Much to your surprise my embarrassment
I've come to resent
Made a fool of myself watching them climb, while the others jumped ship I'd stay behind
Indifference follows bitterness then failure to concentrate, on how little you care, you care about this place, just how little you care
Do it delicately and watch the pace. When twisting the truth distract with your hands.
Its all in the way, all in the way.
Sweating through winters protection
One glance you'll recognize all my failed attempts
The sudden realization that not one thing has changed

jarrod is a poet just found this song on youtube, it's brilliant
i took this song as seeing everyone around you "succeed" with their lives, living in the american dream per say, while you're just sitting back, watching it all go by. keep telling yourself you're going to do something about it, do something with your life, but the "excuses pile high."
then realizing that all those people who moved on to bigger things in their lives, aren't actually going anywhere. while portraying themselves as being perfectly happy, when in reality are struggling just like everyone else. "it doesn't make a difference" what you do. we're all just living to survive.
Love this song. Jarrod Gorbel sang this during his Daytrotter session (you can download it for free on their website, I'd recommend it), though the lyrics are slightly modified. Everything Jarrod Gorbel writes is fantastic.
