My take is that this song is Daron's comment on global warming. Probably written in 2005 from the perspective 1,000 years on in 3005. Basic components of ideas: -Clapping hands that the show is over for everybody, good, evil, in between. A genocide of the human race and everything we've done (internet, Mickey Mouse, etc). -The spaceship reference combined with the comments about sinking under the ocean and losing ground means that the only place to survive will be "in the air" above it all. -The ending about "every other motherfucker that's burnin up in this house" draws the ideas back to the present day that we are slowing burning ourselves away. -I haven't figured out whether the "shooting up the world" phrase is about shooting at the world or shooting up in the drug sense of the last survivor in a spaceship above a waterworld remembering what things were like. Getting high on samples of what used to be. The drug analogy makes more sense to me.

Final comment: I do not believe there is man-made global warming and that whatever is going on are just normal fluctuations. For all of Daron's resistance to establishment power, I wish he would see that the leftist ideas he parrots are as much an establishment power as any other. The true skeptic sees the global warming movement as a threat to the individual just as much as right wing ideologies.

i'm kind of agreeing with the whole christianity losing ground..but I think he's also hitting a larger scale saying its only downhill from here for the world. Using alot of sarcasm and the world may just end up as it did in that movie WALL-E where people are gunna go into space or something (silly childish analogy) AND though he is being sarcastic he's accepted that its all downhill..but he's not agreeing that he likes are wants the world to end by 3005 so he's shooting up your world...its like saying "I TOLD YOU SO."

I FINALLY GET IT. It's about fundamentalists attacking science and its continuous attempts at advancing human life beyond Earth or changing nature because that's not what "God" has in mind. That's why Daron will be up in his spaceship still alive while the Christians wait for their savior to return.

this song has got to be about the end of the world in one way or another. some say global warming, i lean more toward aliens, or most likely, war. we clapping and giving high fives to all the things we've created and all the dictators and martyrs (and everybody else who was nice) that have come and gone, but none of it matters and no one will remember when we're all dead. i think the spaceship line is more a metaphor about how this planet is going to be ****ed up in the next 1000 years or so, hence the title, rather than aliens or a rip on Scientology. and that the only way to survive is if we head to space. im almost certain when he says "while you'll be sinking in the ocean, I'll be in my spaceship, still alive..." hes referring to someone watching earth be torn up by those who stayed behind, warring with each other, cuz thats what we do.

I believe the correct lyrics are "I'll be in my SPACESHIP, still alive..." considering you can't be in a 'special'... wtf is that!? lol. Anyway, great song...I was listening to it earlier thinking about how we could technically be around in 3005 as ghosts shooting up the world and watching resurrection junkies lose ground...anything is possible.

what does he mean by "shooting up your world"? I mean, if the worlds already been sunk by an ocean or whatever, why would he persist to shoot it?

This song is about Aliens coming to destroy or "shoot up the world. And that everyone is going to die, But he will be alive in his spaceship... Get it?

And him referring Christ in this song. the same time as talking about the president (who we all know Him adn Serj hate the president) and he talks about Charlie Manson who is in jail for murders, Slaughterings and a shooting. Not sure what he is getting at with this.

So I think he is saying it doesn't matter who you are. be A World Leader or a mass murderer or even Mickey mouse. Everyone deserves to die.
