This about a breakup and how she wants him back but hes trying to get away hence breakaway
This could be seen two ways. A breakup that went all wrong, or a friendship that ended badly. I personally use it on the friendship end, because its happening to me right now. Either way, the song is about a relationship that the writer is trying to end, but the second person doesn't want it to at all. They cling on, but it only drives the writer farther and father away.
I think It's about ending a very close friendship with someone. It's also a possability that someone has died. Oh, by the way shaylean, the lead singer, Bill Kaulitz, is a man, not a chick.
