i think it's mostly about Pennie, in a kind of bitter way. I could be completely wrong, but when they performed, although robs the main singer, Pennie, although not doing much, acted like it was his gig. This song could be about how the rest of the band felt with Pennie hogging the limelight : "my best performance escaped me", "Part of the scenery, no reason to stay, all my pictures have been erased - just an extra with nothing to say" and how they feel now he's gone: "I wrote myself into a new storyline. i think it's mostly about Pennie, in a kind of bitter way.
