The Driveway Lyrics
After twelve, not so well
Won't pretend, it's too soon to tell
What's around this bend
No disgrace, about face
Anything not to have to
Chase you down again
You know nothing hurts like losing
When you know it's really gone
Except for the pain
Of choosing to hold too long
I tried it your way
But I got nothing to show
It's been the same, same
And the story's getting old
So I guess the driveway
Will be the end of the road
For us it's too late
Let the credits start to roll
A lot to say, but not today
Let the radio break the silence as we drive
A kiss goodbye, not this time
Don't remember what about this song
I ever liked
You know nothing hurts like losing
When you know I'm already gone
Except for the pain of choosing
To hold too long
I tried it your way
But I got nothing to show
It's been the same, same
And the story's getting old
So I guess the driveway
Will be the end of the road
For us it's too late
Let the credits start to roll
I thought maybe we were getting somewhere
But we're still nowhere at all
I watched your tail lights fading
I try, but the tears won't fall
I remember what it feels like
To know love and have it taken away
I can't think of what I've learned right now
But I'll be thanking you someday
I tried it your way
But I got nothing to show
It's been the same, same
And the story's getting old
So I guess the driveway
Will be the end of the road
For us it's too late
Let the credits start to roll
Let the credits start to roll
So I guess the driveway
Will be the end of the road
Be the end of the road
Will be the end of the road
Be the end of the road

I feel the song is about a relationship thats not working and you know whats going to happen. It hurts to know that your in a relationship thats not going to work out and you keep holding on even tho you want to let go.
this song is pretty cute. it reminds me of angels and airwaves, whom i do not like. but i like this song. and you think miley is big now? no. just no. when this cd comes out she's gonna be fucking huge. so big, that she will most likely take over the country honestly, i'm not kidding.
I like this song. But i don't like the line "no disgrace about face" it seems like it was only put there for the sake of rhyming. If i'm wrong please let me know. But I do like the song. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Miley Cyrus.
limepops, I thought the same thing. That line doesn't make much sense unless it means something about reputation, you know the phrase 'saving face'? Maybe it pertains to that.
about face is a movement that involves turning around
this song is amazzzinnng! i honestly love this album, i think its great miley wrote most of the songs, including this one and you can just tell shes really singing about something she feels strongly about, be that a good memory or a bad one xxxx
yeah about face is like turning 180 degrees. idkk i used to horse back ride and in some shows we'd have to do an about face which is turning your horse around while moving from the same spot as little as possible. so...yeah if that helps[:
Meh,what the hell has happened to music????????
You know, at first, I was quick to judge Miley's new album, and quite negatively might I add. I take that back, although this isn't actual alternative/rock, it's a step up from her usual princess pop-star stuff.
I really think this song is about two different, and I mean DIFFERENT people in a relationship, and he's a bit of a player, but not severely, but she "tries to see it his way" but she doesn't see a way of this relationship working out, and although she doesn't want to let him go, it's what's best for her. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I really think I'm right on this one.
"i remember what it feels like to know love and have it taken away"
"except for the pain of choosing to hold to long"
those are both very strong lines those to parts are my favorite thing about this whole song.
