Thirst Lyrics

it leaves me hurting spiteful the dust throat longing choking in true form hopeful bitter the last cry pleading verbal

the thirst comes the face falls it crumbles the plain way in plain view it's forced through at arms length i feel you with gloves on you see me there's no one the thirst's gone

call me crazy i provide life all this fruit falls all my life blind sweetened poison left to die dry the face that's not me nor is it mine

the thirst comes the face falls it crumbles the plain way in plain view it's forced through at arms length i feel you with gloves on you see me there's no one the thirst's gone

Cover art for Thirst lyrics by I Parasite

'Thirst' to me represents passion, or an affinity for something and perhaps in this case <someone>.

The line that stands out... "at arms length I feel you with gloves on, you see me, there's no one the thirst gone"

I feel this could be the character, reaching out and trying to communicate, trying to grab at substance within a relationship/friendship. The gloves symbolizing a defense or doubtful stance on his part, hesitant of rejection. The nonreciprocating individual seeing this attempt and no longer having "the thirst". While on the other hand, the character reaching out has intense thirst or admiration despite being unwanted. Maybe all at an attempt to salvage a once flourishing and deep connection they had. Watching someone lose interest in you, fall out of love, or simply distance themselves without reason is painful. It can leave you 'hurting', 'spiteful'...'longing' and eventually 'pleading.'

I especially like the characters looming resentment suggested in "call me crazy, I provide life" at least acknowledging that they're not in reality worthless and are making efforts to help the situation. He becomes aware of the corrosive nature of the relationship he's been battling with "all my life, blind, sweetened poison left to die, dry" and admits he's lost pieces of himself in the struggle, self identity damaged... caught up in everything, draining him. "the face that's not me nor is it mine."
