what's with the dots? just write the lyrics normally

Anyone else feeling the Final Fantasy X connection? I mean it seems like that is what they are talking about

honestly who cares about the dots.. the song is a good song and im kinda feeling the whole final fantasy 10 thing too with this song

the composure used in this song is just amazing in my opinion...

the guitar digital delay in the outro is INCREDIBLY catchy and well-written. Not to mention original as fuck.

I love this band. They're all really down to earth and super cool. I met all of them minus the drummer (although he seemed cool when I was screaming shit at him during sound check and he always replied with a smirk and stuff).

"People die and people dance"

Obviously direct Final Fantasy connection there, lol. Like how when you finish a battle and the characters start to dance and that victory song plays.

Jag says in an interview this song is about two people who work at the same profession and their both almost equally as good, but one knows that the other is better so therefor he ends up killing him. Then after he kills him, the rest of the song is about how he knows that the other man was better at what they did, and what he would've said to him if he hadn't killed him.

i think the "people die and people dance" line is referring to how summoners in ffx perform a dance to send the souls of the dead to the farplane

and the line "listen to my story this may be our last chance" is said by the main character of the game frequently

The FFX connection here CAN'T just be a coninscidence. Especially because they've even said in interviews they're FF freaks. The line "listen to my story this may be our last chance" is directly from the first phrase in the game, and "people die and people dance" probably pertains to the sendings. AND "So alive we coexist, so envious we pray for this" could be about how Tidus is stranded and ends up praying on many occasions, displaying a loss of hope and submission to outlandish customs he obviously doesn't believe in. I could go on, but I'm gonna stop being a nerd ^_^

COuld also be link towards Cris Core When Cloud and Zack exchanged words at the end ^-^ least thats my opinion

Is it definitely "like proper men we dive in"? I've always heard it as "like proper men we die now", which seems to follow onto "live...you'll be the proof of my existence" considerably better in my mind.

Can any bigger fans than me that have the booklet lyrics or whatever help me out? :P

This is my favourite song off the album, I agree with ShinjiruX5's link to Crisis Core as well.
