Pretty clear what this one means. She's in a complicated relationship where she doesn't feel independent, she's just acting a part she thinks she should be playing - "just acting the way we learned to play when we were young". Eventually it gets to the point where they're playing games and thinking way too much, and it's clear what decision has to be made. So she chooses herself over a questionable and hurtful relationship, seems to be always a good move.
