she's in a relationship that is on the outs but it seems like the guy still wants to try. I hope this isn't a personal reference to Solange's marriage.
Actually, I think this is her being in a relationship that's going well. However, because of being hurt in the past, she is cynical and EXPECTS him to hurt her, cheat on her, etc., and predicts it so that when it happens, she won't feel so foolish. Total pessimism, but with a small hint of hope ("unless you prove me wrong").
