I am currently addicted to this song. Just listening to it, I thought it was a love song because I guess it had that vibe to it. However, reading the lyrics, it's obvious that it's about fulfilling your dreams despite rejection and the people that doubt you.
Interestingly, I think this could also apply to fulfilling the dream of being in a relationship with a person that you are shy about approaching. The lyrics can work for that also, but I think they apply more to your career/life aspirations.
