Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide Lyrics
Shes a steel thrill suicide they say
Cyanide in her plastic veins
Shes a mannequin of misery
Shes on a bender
But she ain't gonna break
Hey Hey
Taste like sugar but its novacaine
Shes grinding teeth so she can sharpen the pain
White light
Train wreck
[Chorus]
Black lips, pale eyes
Cyanide sweet tooth suicide
Shes a killer
Shes my cyanide sweet tooth suicide
Strychnine cerebellum feeds the brain
Hurricane in a violent rage
Shes a looker like Anna Nicole (oh no)
Not the silver let's go straight for the gold
Hey Hey
Digging deeper than a six foot hole
Shes snorting cocaine with a suicide note
White light
Train wreck
[Chorus]
White light
Train wreck
[Chorus]
Cyanide in her plastic veins
Shes a mannequin of misery
Shes on a bender
But she ain't gonna break
Hey Hey
Taste like sugar but its novacaine
Shes grinding teeth so she can sharpen the pain
Train wreck
Black lips, pale eyes
Cyanide sweet tooth suicide

Pretty awesome song. The whole album is great, I think it's their best yet as a whole. And this song is really straight forward lyrically... about a self-destructive woman with some addiction problems.
One possible correction, I think I'm hearing him say "Fuck the silver, let's go straight for the gold" at the end of the second verse.
One of the best songs on the album IMO. Fairly obvious what the song's about - drugs + suicide.
When I got my Limited Edition Fan Club album in the mail the day before release I saw this song title and I thought... "Wow, this might be the only bad song ever written by Shinedown" simply because the title (and the content) is so incredibly clichè... I listened to the song and I lightened up a bit. I still hate the title, but the song isn't that bad. I'm still one of their biggest fans.
I think that the title is the best part!! It totally caught my attention and made me listen to it. I love the almost galloping, hard-hitting drums in the chorus, they all have such great talent, and put together they are an unstoppable force.
I really don't like this song...actually I really don't like most of their new faster-tempoed songs. I miss the old Shinedown :(. Anyway, I think this song is either about a girl who is likened to cocaine & suicide or a girl who is killing herself with cocaine. Either way, I think I already mentioned that I miss their old stuff...I still absolutely love Shinedown, but their new album was very disappointing for me...at least there are some good slower songs on it. I'll give them that.
ok.. this song is totally about his fiance' alter ego.. ever heard of "THE SUICIDE GIRLS" duh.. he dreams of them. its so obvious. AND for your little comments about the album not being good FUCK YOU. if you were honestly a shinedown "FAN" you would support whatever they put out. whether they collaborated with lil wayne or started playing banjo's you would still like them.

R U KIDDING ME????? lol, kidding. no big deal. yea, i to think that shinedown had a LARGE change in how there songs sound. but i grew up listening to fast heavy tempoed bands like metallica and megadeth. i also like newer bands like this band and many others.

hey, i don't mean to come off rude or anything but there isn't really and Old shinedown. they are a ROCK band which means they will have most fast tempoed and hard music. They do heavy stuff.... only a few are slow... ex: Call me, Some day, Shed some light, Misfits, etc... but that's what you're gonna get with a rock band, especially alternative rock, like shinedown is. again, sorry if i came off rude but it's the truth.

I don't think Brent Smith cusses very much. I thought i heard that too, but i read through an interview where he said he tries not to. but i think i heard him cuss in a different song too once, so i'm not sure
You messed up a bit. It goes like this:
Strychnine cerebellum feeds the brain Hurricane in a violent rage They say She's a looker just like Anna Nicole (oh no) Fuck the silver let's go straight for the gold Hey Hey
I absolutely love this song. It's one of my favorites, although I love all of the songs on their new album. The only albums I've liked every song on it has been this latest album from Shinedown (Although I haven't listened all of their other songs, so I might like all of those too), and all of the songs by Three Days Grace. Go SHINEDOWN!!!
The song's point is never do drugs. But its about a friend of his that died on his birthday a year before the Sound of Madness CD was released. He said that at a concert I was at.

Ok yes Brent Smith cusses in this song, as he does in Sound of Madness and Energy. Besides that, he's cuss-free, which is totally awesome. Brent Smith told us in Reno that this song is about a friend of his that took cyanide and killed herself through it. Not much more to be said. She was like 31 or something.
Actually, I'm not sure... I think it's 'not' instead. :S

I think the song is about "spinning". This is where a user adds small pieces of balled up cotton candy or Neslte Quick to cocaine to make the drug taste sweeter when snorted. It is usually done by girls and that's where I think the "Sweet Tooth" part of the title comes from. If you take a small amount of cotton candy (which is spun in the process of being made, hence the term) and roll it up in your hand it becomes these compact pieces and then you can mix it in with cocaine. Even though it's going up your nose when being snorted, there is still the aftertaste. Coke is said to be bitter when snorted and this makes it taste better on the way down. Just my theory. The title, the references to "she" (like I said, girls do it more than guys), and the Anna Nicole reference (she was known to do coke this way) makes me think that could be what he's talking about. In my line of work we have seen several young ladies OD this way because the drug tastes like candy and they end up doing a lot more than they should... not that there is a safe amount to do to begin with. Great song. It even has kind of a Megadeth feel. It's obviously not full on thrash, but there is some Mustaine in the guitar parts.
Actually, you won't believe this, I have a booklet that has lyrics as written by Shinedown that came with a CD/DVD and it actually is 'Not the silver, let's go straight for gold!'. So no need to worry about that dispute! (Sounds like the other to me too, I know, but that's how Shinedown wrote it 8/ )
