I think a guy likes a girl and he ask her out and she says no and she realizes she does like him as it shows in the lines "Can we bring yesterday back around, Cause I know how I feel about you now" and he is sad/upset about it which applies to the line "I've let you down"

I think this song is about a mistake that she made and regretted about breaking up with her boyfriend. "I was dumb, I was wrong, I led you down, but I know how I feel about you now."

It's a song targeted at tweens, so the lyrics are generally straightforward. The day before ("can we bring yesterday back around"), he probably told her he loved her, and she couldn't say it back, or wasn't ready to do so, which "let [him] down", and made her feel "dumb". As a result, she hasn't been able to stop thinking about it ("not a day passed me by when I didn't think about you").

However, now it's the next day, and "[she knows] how [she] feels about [him] now", and is therefore, ready to tell him.

I was watching degrassi on the n yesterday (i just got home from school and needed a degrassi fill), but between episodes i saw this music video and my first reaction was ohhh my god i cannot believe she sings now.... anyway... at first i laughed then i started listening to the song and although it is very poppy and has straight forward lyrics it really reminded me of a boy i dated in high school. I was a senior and he was a junior and he adored me... he would have done anything for me. but i had never had a boy like him before... all the boys i dated before that were just jerks, and he was different... it scared me and that's where the "i had nothing to compare to" part reminds me of him. i got scared and ended things with him... he was really upset about it and didn't talk to me for weeks then we finally became friends again. and even though i ended things with him... i still think about him every single day... he was perfect to me. i don't think the "can we bring yesterday back around" is so literal, jake and i broke up in april and it still reminds me of him... it's like "wow, i was stupid... i didn't know a good thing when i had it". granted he has no idea i feel this way about him... lol idk sorry for my rant, that's just how it relates to me :)
