This song is about one of Chris' friends with an eating disorder, i'm pretty sure. But i'm not positive... i just heard it in a youtube comment. it might be wrong. But that's what i heard. =]
I think this song is about a girl that has an eating disorder and shes lost who she really was because of her eating disorder. "Shes confused about her image, even though we all agree shes so beautiful" "we miss you so" - meaning that she drew back from her friends so she can continue her eating disorder. and her friends miss her because shes only the shell of who she used to be.
She puts on a face to gaurd everyone from thinknig she has a problem.. even though they all know.

I think the 'face on' thing is about her smile. Because she is insecure, she doesn't smile too often but when she does it's beautiful.

I think the song is about a girl he knows that he find uber-intresting and beautiful but maybe she denys it so he wrote a song to tell her how amazing he thinks she is. All of his songs have a really deep meaning to them and that's what I love about NeverShoutNever.

I think it's probably about his friend who passed away BECAUSE of an eating disorder or something. Because the 'if you knew her' and 'to tell you we miss you so' if she were still alive, that wouldn't be there,

but hannuh, she didn't die from it. he said she went to rehab for it.
