Body Like Mind Lyrics
The story of my life, is I got bones
My body like my mind
Are both tired and cold.
Been on high for days,
And now they've lost sight
'Cause I got gold.
I made a record of, my platinum life
It's gonna make me rich, fill me up inside
Threw it all away, 'cause it's not what I like
And it's not why you're mine.
Let's never forget who paid to get us here.
I never understand why no one sees this clear.
I got my disease when I was young
I put my records on, and around I spun
It's been that way for years,
But now I've grown tired.
I've got blood running through my veins,
But I'm sick and tired
Of the fakest face, telling me to smile
Not quite losing faith, just giving it time
To make up its mind
It's not what I like
And it's not why you're mine.
Let's never forget who paid to get us here.
I never understand why no one sees this clear.
Let's never forget who paid to get us here.
I never understand why no one sees this clear.
Until the whoa,
Don't let me tell you about the whoa,
Let's never forget who paid to get us here.
And now we throw it all away before we ever hear
Whoa...
Now let me tell you about the whoa...
So let me tell you about the whoa...
My body like my mind
Are both tired and cold.
Been on high for days,
And now they've lost sight
'Cause I got gold.
It's gonna make me rich, fill me up inside
Threw it all away, 'cause it's not what I like
And it's not why you're mine.
I never understand why no one sees this clear.

This song is amazing :). Ace never fails to amaze me.
"But I'm sick and tired Of the fakest face, telling me to smile Not quite losing faith, just giving it time To make up its mind"
Love that part! This song has a great beat and is very catchy. I can't get enough Ace Enders!
I guess I'll make an attempt at this song...
"I made a record of, my platinum life It's gonna make me rich, fill me up inside Threw it all away, 'cause it's not what I like And it's not why you're mine." --- I think this is him with The Early November and how they could have kept growing and gaining money, but it's not what he wanted to do.
"Let's never forget who paid to get us here. I never understand why no one sees this clear." --- This is Ace telling the other members of The Early November that it was the fan's support that got them to where they were. (Not sure about this, though)
"I got my disease when I was young I put my records on, and around I spun It's been that way for years, But now I've grown tired." --- He got the disease(money) when he was younger and wanted to become rich, but later realized that making music for the art is much better.
Yeah, that's what I got. Could be completely wrong, I don't know.

i think on one of the last "let's never forget.." parts he says "let's never forget we begged to get up here". which makes sense in keeping with the early november interpretation
I always kinda wondered if the song was about the fact that Ace was the soul of The Early November. Like is the song really about how he got them famous and he is who "who paid to get us here." Just a thought. Also what does "The story of my life, is I got bones" mean? Is it like saying he has guts or balls or just strength? It seems to fit with the idea that he is saying he is self made.
i think the "i got bones" part is more like this

Ace played this song at the Where's the Band? Tour and he said it was about a solo record he did right after The Early November broke up. He said it was with a big record company, featured some well-known musicians, and after a lot of time and money he realized it sounded nothing like what he wanted so it was never released. He went on to build his own recording studio and that's when Ace Enders and a Million Different People began.
