I love this song.

I think it can mean so much. When you first listen to it it sounds like shes waking up next to the person she loves, and that makes sense.

but also if you look at it a little more it could also be a struggle to wake them up. When you know you want to tell someone for their benifit but may not benifit you, "Oh rain, fall too hard So I can keep you Oh rain, don’t follow through Follow through, don’t follow"

and weather it comes trhoguh, weather she 'wakes them up' she wants to make sure they know she loves them, and that she sees gold in them.
